The Carlisle Church of Christ is dedicated to spreading the Gospel of Christ throughout the Carlisle area, the north eastern United States, as well as to the rest of the world. One of the ways we accomplished the work of spreading the good news is through our web portal. Our desire is that you will learn about God and be obedient to his word.
 The internet is a vital part of our work in spreading the Gospel throughout the world. It provides us with an open door to reaching the lost through out the world. Secondly, our web portal provides our members with up to date information about all of the works, events and news happening with the local body that meets in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

OPINIONS CONTINUED: It is sinful to argue over opinions. “He loveth transgression that loveth strife” (Proverbs 17:19). We must avoid provoking one another. (Gal 5:26) Don’t try to settle it, don’t think that just a little more explanation can sway someone.
Paul warned the Romans to avoid contentiousness, strife, and envy Rom 2:8, 13) If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men” (Rom 12:18) “As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a contentious man to kindle strife” (Proverbs 26:21) It is not the difference itself that is the danger to the unity and love of Christians, as is what we do about the difference. If we make opinions a source of contention, then we risk dividing the Church.

As Jesus entered the wedding feast in Cana, Mary, His mother, approached Him about the lack of “wine” for the wedding guests. Mary turns to Christ’s disciples and states, “what ever He says to you, do it.” As Mary stated to Christ’s disciples, one can even deduce from Jesus’ instructions in John fifteen, “you are my friends if you do what-so-ever I command you (JN. 15:14).” What greater way to show our love for Christ than to follow His solemn commands? One such charge Christ delivered to His followers which rings throughout the centuries is known as the “Great Commission.” Let us be reminded that the “
Great Commission” is great for a number of reasons: 1) Because Christ commanded it, 2) Because the world is lost without Christ, 3) Because God desires all men to come to a knowledge of Him (2Peter 3:9), 4) Because teaching others about God and His will for them in their lives is the ultimate work one can endeavor to do (1COR. 2:1-2). When reflecting upon the great commission of our Lord, to seek the lost, let us be reminded about where we would be spiritually, if someone had not taught us of the Christ? Teaching the lost is imperative for the child of God (MK. 16:15-16). First, we must save our own soul (Phil. 2:12), second we are to teach our children (Prov. 22:6) and third we are to see that our families are saved (Genesis 6 -8).
